Plenty of Week 12 heroics helped the Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts extend his lead in the 2023 NFL MVP race, via BetMGM. Here’s what you need to know:
- Hurts initially took the lead over the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes after the Eagles defeated the Buffalo Bills in Week 12. Hurts threw three second-half touchdown passes and rushed for a TD in overtime to push Philadelphia past Buffalo.
- Lamar Jackson sits at third as the Baltimore Ravens continue to lead in the AFC North.
- The Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa and the Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott are tied for fourth entering Week 13.

NFL MVP
NFC East primed for MVP?
A topsy-turvy 2023 season continued for the Eagles quarterback with a smelly first half against the Bills followed by an MVP-type performance in the second half and overtime. What seems most evident through the weekly twists and turns of his rates, though, is Hurts may be the most unflappable QB in the league this season.
Prescott unleashed his best passer rating of the season in the Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Day win over the Washington Commanders. Plus, he hasn’t been sacked in the last three games. You could easily make the case that Prescott has never been better in the NFL than he’s playing right now.
