IDP Fantasy Football Report: Waiver Wire Pickups and Early Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings - Pro Football Network

Week 1 of football is officially in the books, and it’s time to look ahead for our fantasy football leagues. The Week 2 IDP Report will provide an early look at several waiver wire priorities of varying league sizes and preliminary Week 2 IDP rankings.

Since all leagues are different sizes and have different IDP requirements, the weekly rankings might be more beneficial than the waiver list for even setting waivers. If you have any specific questions, hop into our discord and ask me a question! Hope the waivers go in your favor.

Top IDP Waiver Wire Pickups

Kaden Elliss, LB, Atlanta Falcons

Kaden Elliss is the starting play-caller in Atlanta, and while his young teammate Troy Anderson was a Round 2 pick, they posted similar production in Week 1, and that should continue. Elliss is a name to prioritize where available.

Zach Cunningham/Christian Elliss/Rashaan Evans, LB, Philadelphia Eagles

Nakobe Dean was meant to be the next MLB but is now out for a while with a foot injury. Zach Cunningham should slide into the top LB spot this week, with Christian Elliss likely as his running mate.

Rashaan Evans was signed Monday to the Eagles’ practice squad, but he’ll likely push for playing time as the year goes along.

Danielle Hunter, DE, Minnesota Vikings

A name for shallower leagues, all Danielle Hunter does is produce year after year. He started strong in Week 1, too, producing a sack, two tackles for loss, and seven total tackles. Likely owned in many leagues, Hunter’s floor and ceiling are strong, and he deserves to be universally picked up.

Arden Key, DE, Tennessee Titans

Arden Key was not likely on many IDP gamers’ radars going into the year, but Week 1 has piqued interest. Key was tied for first in the NFL in total pressures generated with eight. His production was also solid, as he totaled four combined tackles and 1.5 sacks.

Darnell Savage, Safety, Green Bay Packers

Darnell Savage has been an enigma so far in his career, but Week 1 should bring people back in on him. Savage led the Packers in total tackles last week with 10. Let’s let it play out for another week to see if he’s a starting-caliber IDP weekly, but this is worth rostering in more leagues.

Julian Blackmon, Safety, Indianapolis Colts

Julian Blackmon has some of the best IDP usage at the safety spot. He played more than 50% of his snaps in the box for the Colts last week against the Jaguars, which matches his preseason alignment. If this continues, it doesn’t matter how good a player he is, his numbers will be worth it.

The Best IDP Players To Start in Week 2

Jaelan Phillips, LB, Miami Dolphins

Jaelan Phillips picked up right where he left off in 2022 and looks like the breakout is on. He posted seven total pressures in Week 1, good for third best in the entire NFL.

Despite this, Phillips only posted a half-sack, but he did bail managers out with an 11-tackle performance. Now just wait until the sacks come.

Denzel Perryman, LB, Houston Texans

Christian Harris originally looked like the Texans’ top linebacker, but Denzel Perryman played the full-time role in Houston during Week 1. He posted a strong 11-tackle performance to debut with the Texans, and double-digit tackles feel likely again in Week 2. Start him with confidence.
