The second round of the 2023 Women's NCAA Tournament begins today as teams battle for a spot in the Sweet 16. Sunday starts with No. 1 seed South Carolina continuing its title defense, and the action will go well into the night as No. 8 seed Ole Miss plays No. 1 seed Stanford to close the day.
After beating Norfolk State rather comfortably in the first round, South Carolina plays South Florida at 1:00 p.m. ET. The Bulls's first round game was a little more stressful than the Gamecocks'. USF went to overtime with Marquette before escaping with a victory.
Fans will also get to see whether Iowa's Caitlin Clark can top her dominant first-round performance. The No. 2 seeded Hawkeyes clobbered No. 15 seed Southeast Louisiana, and Clark finished the game with 26 points and 12 assists for a double-double. Iowa will get No. 10 seed Georgia after the Bulldogs took down Florida State on Friday.
In one of Sunday's marquee matchups, No. 6 seed Michigan and No. 3 seed LSU will go head-to-head at 7:30 p.m. ET. The Wolverines passed a tough first-round test from No. 11 seed UNLV, and the Tigers handled No. 14 seed Hawaii without breaking too much of a sweat. It'll be fun to see these two programs clash in Baton Rouge with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line.
