ATHENS - The No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs may have to play without starting QB JT Daniels once more this season.
That’s according to ESPN’s Holly Rowe, who told reporters Friday afternoon that Daniels could miss Georgia’s top-ten battle against No. 8 Arkansas.
“(JT) is a game-time decision,” Rowe told Dawg Post’s Ryan Kerley and other reporters Friday afternoon. “Will he play or not? We really don’t really know at this point.”
Ealier this week, Georgia coach Kirby Smart revealed that Daniels was dealing with an injury.
"His oblique is fine; he's been having a little bit of a lat issue," Smart told reporters. "It bothered him some last week, and it bothered him some this week. But he's done a good job, he's sharp, watches all his tape, gets his reps and he does a good job, so we're hoping he can stay that way.”
Daniels was slowed in the season opener against No. 3 Clemson with an oblique injury. He sat out the win over UAB. Stetson Bennett had an award-winning day against the Blazers by tossing five touchdowns on 10 of 12 throwing.
A week later Daniels came back to the starting lineup during No. 2 Georgia’s blowout win over South Carolina.
Meanwhile, Arkansas caoch Sam Pittman would not address a question regarding the health of his starting quarterback KJ Jefferson. The 6-3, 245-pound signal caller missed much of the No. 8 Hogs’ win over Texas A&M last Saturday.
Jefferson only threw 15 passes - completing only seven of them. He added eight runs for 50 yards. Although he left during the game, Jefferson returned to close out the win in Arlington over the Aggies.
Georgia’s game with Arkansas kicks off at Noon on ESPN. The game is the 8th top-ten matchup in the Bulldogs 17 most-recent games.
