2022 NFL Draft: Pearson's mock Vol. 2.0 - 247Sports

The preseason is officially over for the NFL and now the focus shifts over to Week 1. But even so, it's never too early to update our mock draft for next April and with the college football season starting, it's a great time to take a look at some prospects that analysts will be talking about all season long.

One of our draft analysts, Montel Hardy, already released his 2022 Top 30 big board for the next class to come in and now it's time to run with our second mock draft of the year. Yep, a 2022 mock draft fresh for your viewing.

To do this mock, I projected which teams would be picking where moving a few teams up and down spots based on 2020 and how they drafted in 2021. Obviously, a lot is going to happen between now and next April but it's always fun to project some things. Plus, this will be updated throughout the offseason and NFL season to reflect the standings and the needs of teams.

For this mock the top is five features two quarterbacks as North Carolina's Sam Howell and Oklahoma's Spencer Rattler battle it out for the top overall pick. Oregon's Kayvon Thibodeau is another name to keep an eye on as he could be a top pick next season as well. From there, it's a mix of defensive backs, offensive line and wide receivers to round out the top 10 or so.  But Howell and Rattler aren't the only two quarterbacks in the first round as a total of six are selected in the first 20 picks. There is even an argument that seven quarterbacks could have first round grades on them and we see a run on quarterbacks once we hit the teens.

Now, a lot is going to happen and some of these players may not even hear their name called in the first round due to whatever reasons come this season but it's still fun to project where teams could look to find the next big talent in the NFL.

NOTE: No trades for this mock draft and I will update it through the year as we go.

Adblock test (Why?)
