Former Astros players have fun with old team's win over Dodgers - Chron

Even though Josh Reddick and Myles Straw are no longer Astros, they obviously still have a rooting interest in their former team.

When Yordan Alvarez clubbed a two-run homer in the eighth inning, Straw tweeted out the smirking emoji. Earlier in the game, he also responded to Astros field reporter Julia Morales' tweet that Michael Brantley had driven in a run with a double by simply tweeting: "Shocker."

The Astros traded Straw to Cleveland for more bullpen help on Friday. Straw is 4-for-17 (.235) with a home run and stolen base in four games with his new team.

When Ryne Stanek slammed the door on the Dodgers in the ninth inning, former Astros right fielder Josh Reddick sent out the GIF of Marvel character Loki smiling. Reddick's mentions were hit with a mix of celebrating Astros fans and angry Dodgers supporters.

Reddick, who played four seasons in Houston, is hitting .258 in 54 games with the Diamondbacks this season. He's already taken his medicine from Dodgers fans. When the Diamondbacks played at Dodger Stadium in May, he was serenaded to chants of "Cheater!" and the Dodgers organist played Ace of Base's "I Saw the Sign" before one of his at-bats.

Former Astros slugger Evan Gattis, who often is active on Twitter during Astros games, also had compliments for his former team, tweeting, "These guys on this team are just so great at accepting any challenge" as the game headed to the ninth inning.
