Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
A packed Linc? NFL commissioner expects full stadiums in 2021 - NBCSP
Remember the days when Lincoln Financial Field was packed to the gills? When the roar of the crowd was deafening? When tailgaters began drinking and grilling soon after the sun rose? It looks like those days are returning. Goodell said Tuesday that the NFL expects to have full stadiums for the 2021 season, according to a story on NFL.com. Although most NFL teams had a limited number of fans for some or all games last year, COVID restrictions throughout the country reduced attendance league-wide to about 1.2 million last year, or about 6 1/2 percent of total capacity.

Off Day Debrief #30: 49ers, Dolphins & Eagles shake up the NFL Draft - The SB Nation NFL Show
Rob “Stats” Guerrera and Brandon Lee Gowton react to the trio of moves made at the top of the NFL Draft order last week with special guest Jake Mendel from The Phinsider. Does Jake believe in Tua the way to Dolphins seem to believe in him? Who does Miami want at #6? Why BLG has no faith in the Eagles to use these picks wisely & who could restore that faith What’s the ceiling on the 49ers if they start a rookie QB in 2021. The future of Jimmy Garoppolo in the NFL.
NFC East 2021 free agency grades: New York Giants edition - PhillyVoice
We don’t know what the 2022 salary cap will be, but OverTheCap.com projects it for now at $203,000,000. $62 million combined for Williams, Golladay, and Jackson would represent over 30 percent of the team’s cap space. That’s the kind of money you spend on players you hope to build around, and there are certainly questions about each of those three players’ abilities to be foundational centerpieces. Those three major deals aside, the Giants were hit and miss. The Rudolph and Booker deals make little sense to me, but I did like the cheap lottery ticket signings of Ross, Anderson, and Odenigbo. On the one hand, I believe this splurge came at least one year too early, when the team still has major concerns at quarterback and along their offensive line. On the other hand, the Giants are tied for the worst record in the NFL over the last four years, at 18-46 (0.281), with four straight double-digit loss season. Maybe just putting something watchable on the field is worth overpaying for some players? B-.
Fun Options - Iggles Blitz
If you held a gun to my head and asked who I want the Eagles to draft right now…wait, why would you do such a horrible thing? Just buy me a PBR and I’ll gladly talk to you about DeVonta Smith. My opinion may change (and Smith may be gone by 12), but he’s the dude I want as of today. We know the Eagles believe in building the line of scrimmage so they easily could go O-line or D-line at pick 12. I need to write about the potential targets and who makes the most sense for the Eagles. For now, just assume the team does go OL or DL. What would that mean for WR? I have good news. There are good options beyond pick 12.
2021 Best-Ball QB Tiers - NBC Sports Edge
Jalen Hurts (QB7) — 25.2 fantasy points and 12.6 carries per game in three full starts to close the year. Trading out from No. 6 to No. 12 overall should be viewed as the organization’s reassurance that Hurts will be evaluated throughout the year.
With a 17th game, what Eagles records will be broken? - PE.com
Carson Wentz holds the team’s single-season mark with 4,039 yards, a number that has been routinely topped in the modern era – 12 quarterbacks passed for more yards in 2020. This one is in definite jeopardy, as is Wentz’s franchise mark of 33 touchdown passes and 388 completions in a single season. Interestingly, Wentz broke the previous touchdown record of 32, set by Sonny Jurgensen in 1961. This is a pass-happy league. Single-season marks will fall quickly. Safe for the near future, at least, are Donovan McNabb’s career marks of 32,873 yards and 216 passing touchdowns. The best quarterback in Eagles history? It’s hard not to say McNabb, whose jersey No. 5 hangs in the rafters at Lincoln Financial Field.
Can Casey Toohill be a contributor in 2021? - Hogs Haven
Casey Toohill was taken in the final round of last year’s draft by the Philadelphia Eagles as an EDGE rushing prospect with a impressive college pedigree. Hailing from Stanford, Toohill wasn’t a full-time starter until his redshirt senior season, but, when he finally got the opportunity, he made the most of it. In 2019, Toohill finished 5th in the PAC-12, with 8 sacks and 11.5 TFLs, earning second team All PAC-12 honors. He was also a finalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy - won by Justin Herbert - which is colloquially known as the academic Heisman. In the middle of last season, Washington grabbed Toohill after he was waived off Philadelphia’s practice squad, adding him to the active roster for the final 8 games of the season, primarily in a special teams’ role. Scouting reports around draft time last year echo a common theme, that Toohill was still a couple of years off, but that his ceiling - if he takes the right steps, to get stronger, and refine his technique - could be as a rotational pass rusher in the league.
Press Taylor: I absolutely believe in Carson Wentz as a player - PFT
Colts senior offensive assistant Press Taylor has been coaching Carson Wentz since the quarterback entered the league in 2016. That partnership will continue in Indianapolis in 2021 after Philadelphia sent its former No. 2 overall pick to the club. Taylor was Philadelphia’s assistant quarterbacks coach from 2016-2017 and the quarterbacks coach from 2018-2020, so he has witnessed all of Wentz’s NFL highs and lows. And Taylor told Indianapolis media on Tuesday that when head coach Frank Reich asked about the quarterback prior to the trade, he delivered a strong endorsement. “That was a no-brainer for me,” Taylor said, via JJ Stankevitz of the Colts’ website. “I absolutely believe in Carson Wentz as a player.”
10 best remaining free agency fits for the Detroit Lions - Pride Of Detroit
CB Nickell Robey-Coleman — Of these 10 free agent fits, none make more sense than the Lions signing Nickell Robey-Coleman. We’ve already mentioned the connection several times on this site, but Detroit absolutely needs a starting-level nickelback and Robey-Coleman has held that role for all of his career. With three successful seasons in Los Angeles, both Brad Holmes and Ray Agnew know what he can bring to Detroit. Heck, even special teams coordinator Dave Fipp had a one-year overlap in Philly last year, as Robey-Coleman can also contribute there.
